The educational programs offered by the trained staff of the Stevens Nature Center focus on basic science concepts and local nature themes. Designed to engage participants in hands-on learning, our nature programs allow first-hand experiences in outdoor habitats, creating a relationship of respect and stewardship between participants and the environment. Nature programs are provided for toddlers (ages 1 and up) through senior adults (ages 55 and up), and even the entire family has ample opportunities to learn, appreciate and comprehend the cycle of life in nature at Hemlock Bluffs Nature Preserve. Join our staff for a fun and exciting nature program and explore nature in the Piedmont of North Carolina!
NOTICE: All Group Programs are on hold until Spring 2021.
Group programs are one hour, outdoor environmental education experiences led by trained staff at Hemlock Bluffs. These programs are designed to be enjoyable, educational outings to promote knowledge and appreciation of local flora and fauna.
We customize our programs to meet the specific needs of each group. If your group has special needs, objectives, or badge requirements, please express them when scheduling your program. We will do our best to ensure your visit exceeds expectations. Group programs are limited to a maximum of 15 visitors including adult chaperones. The recommended adult to child ratio is 1:5. We ask that chaperones actively supervise their groups during the entire visit. Underage siblings are not appropriate on age cohesive programs. If you have a large group, there is the option to schedule two groups at the same time and/or back to back group hikes.
Reservations can be made up to six months in advance and are required at least one month prior to the desired program date. Some seasons may book quickly. Call (919) 387-5980 to reserve a time for your group today.
