Video: How to Winterize Your Irrigation System

Water conservation and efficiency support our ability to provide a safe and reliable water supply. Together, we help preserve and protect our natural resources for the long-term benefit of our community.

Water Efficiency Tips for Your Home

Consider these waterwise habits and fixtures.  To schedule a water assessment or receive dye tables to test for toilet leaks call (919) 469-4030.

Track your water use, set a usage alert and pay bills online. Our utility rates encourage wise water use.

Outdoor Watering Regulations

When it is time to water, be sure to follow the Town's year-round watering ordinances including the Alternate Day Watering (ADW) Ordinance.  If you irrigate with reclaimed, well or pond water you are exempt from the ADW Ordinance.

If you are establishing new grass or reseeding, you may apply for a 45-day exemption to the ADW schedule to water as needed.

An irrigation permit is required prior to installing an automatic system.
