The Town of Cary conducts turning movement and daily traffic volume counts for a variety of reasons including traffic signal warrant analyses, traffic calming studies, and coordinated signal timing plans. Volumes are collected by Town staff or a contractor based on the specific needs of the traffic count. Traffic counts conducted by Town staff are available online. This website is updated as traffic counts become available.
Currently, traffic counts conducted by the Town’s contractor are not available on-line. If you would like to review traffic count information and the location you are looking for does not appear on-line, please contact the Engineering Department to inquire about which intersections the Town has current traffic volumes available.
The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) has turning movement and daily traffic volumes available on their website. Please visit http://www.ncdot.gov/projects/trafficsurvey to search the NCDOT listing of turning movement counts and to view daily volume maps for roads in Wake County and throughout the State.
