DID YOU KNOW?
May is INTERNATIONAL BUILDING SAFETY MONTH.
It's Building Safety Month in the Town of Cary and throughout the month of May we're highlighting the theme, "BUILDING SAFETY: Maximizing Resilience, Minimizing Risks." Building Safety Month is a public awareness campaign supported by International Code Council (ICC) and its members to help individuals, families and businesses understand what it takes to create and sustain safe, sustainable and resilient structures..
During the month of May, displays will be placed throughout Town Hall emphasizing the importance of building safety – what does a correctly installed HVAC rough-in look like, what does a building permit card look like, how an electrical box looks before it gets covered up – and many more! And we’ll have a poster of the friendly faces of the Inspections and Permits Department that are available to help you at any time!
We also will host a Building Safety seminar with questions and answers at two Cary Home Improvement stores:
Join us May 10 at Lowe's Home Improvement, 2000 Walnut Street, Cary from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and May 24 at the Lowe's at 1920 NW Maynard Rd, Cary, also from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Cary Town Council will officially proclaim May 2014 as Building Safety Month at a Town Council Meeting.
