This project includes maintenance and repairs on the NW Cary Parkway bridge over Black Creek Greenway. This is the second phase of a two-phase project in advance of the N.C. Department of Transportation accepting maintenance of NW Cary Parkway from Evans Road to Harrison Avenue.

- Greenway closures are to begin this week to perform grading of slopes and stream banks along the Black Creek Greenway.
- Full roadway closure to begin Monday morning to allow crews to begin bridge work.
- Town of Cary staff has been monitoring the traffic at Norwell Blvd. at Weston Parkway. The signal timing is doing well thus far. Our Traffic Team will continue to monitor this and other intersections.

Weather permitting, the Town of Cary will close the NW Cary Parkway Bridge over Black Creek Greenway on June 11 for 60 days. Drivers traveling through the area are encouraged to use alternate routes, including the signed detour along Norwell Boulevard, Weston Parkway and N. Harrison Avenue. This closure will allow for bridge lifting operations related to the NW Cary Parkway Bridge Rehabilitation Project, which is expected to be complete this fall.

A portion of Black Creek Greenway is to be closed for the NW Cary Parkway Bridge Rehabilitation Project. Weather permitting, contractors working on behalf of the Town of Cary will close a portion of Black Creek Greenway near NW Cary Parkway intermittently May 14 through late August. Signs will be posted to let citizens know of the closure. Trail users are encouraged to use alternate routes, including a signed detour along Norwell Boulevard and through North Cary Park. This will allow for work related to the NW Cary Parkway Bridge Rehabilitation Project, which is expected to be complete this fall.

Phase 1: Utility Cleaning and Drainage Improvements
Utilities attached to the bridge are cleaned and painted. Drainage structure installed next to greenway.
Phase 2: Slope Work and Channel Restoration
Adjustment to the East Slope, which has eroded areas. Channel flow will be improved by moving rocks and adjusting blank slopes.
Phase 3: Bridge Jacking and Approach Slab Replacement
Bearings of beams will be replaced along with the west approach slab and joint seals. Any concrete repair will be done at this time.
Phase 4: Trail Repair and Reopening of Road and Greenway
Repair any damages to greenway, then reopen road and greenway to public.
