FAMILY MEDICAL LEAVE ACT

To ensure the Town’s compliance with the federal Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993, as amended (hereafter referred to as “FMLA”).
COMPLIANCE WITH THE FMLA
All Town employees who meet the eligibility criteria and have a qualifying situation or circumstance as outlined in the federal FMLA, as amended, and follow all applicable Town procedures will have their leave designated as FMLA by the Human Resources Department.
The Town will comply with all requirements outlined in the FMLA, including employee eligibility, qualifying situations, employee rights and responsibilities, benefits continuation, protection from denial of leave or inappropriate disciplinary action and reinstatement.
Standard Procedure 8 Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) implements this policy and outlines details on the Town’s specific procedures for the administration of the FMLA.
