The USA Baseball National Training Complex is located in Western Cary off of Green Hope School Road.  The Town of Cary was selected to be the new home of USA Baseball in 2002. 

June 29, 2009 – Dedication of Coleman Field at the USA Baseball Training Facility

Former Town Manager Bill Coleman will be honored as the stadium field at the USA Baseball Training Complex is named for him. Coleman Field will be official dedicated and named before the USA National Team takes on the Canadian National Team. The naming ceremony will be at 7:10 p.m. and the game begins at 7:30 p.m. Information on purchasing tickets is available through the USA Baseball Web site at usabaseball.com.

 NCAA Division II National ChampionshipMay 23-30Together with Defending Division II National Champions Mount Olive College, the Town of Cary will be hosting the NCAA Division II National Championship. Tickets are available for weeklong pass or individual game day tickets.  Each individual ticket allows you admittance to all games scheduled for that day. NCAA Championship ClinicSaturday, May 23 10 a.m.-noon

This clinic is for children ages 8-14 interested in playing and learning the fundamentals of baseball. The clinic will focus on hitting, pitching, throwing and fielding.  Players should bring tennis shoes, cleats, glove and sunscreen.  The cost of the clinic is $10 and you can register at any Town of Cary community center or using EZ-Reg (course code 41050). Athlete Prospect Camp

June 17-19, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

Athlete Prospect Camp (ages 14-18) will focus on the advanced high school player looking to play at the collegiate or professional levels.  Teaching will include high level instruction and analysis from current and former USA Baseball National Team, pro, college and high school coaches. Campers will learn the USA Baseball philosophy and National Team training schedule.  Topics include advanced hitting mechanics, individual positional defensive skills, in-game situations and baseball specific fitness training. Campers will participate in high level scrimmages and practice sessions. Camp registration includes T-shirt and lunch each day.  Campers should bring water bottle, cleats, tennis shoes, baseball equipment, hat and sunscreen

Youth Development Camp

June 15-16, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Youth Development Camp (ages 8-13) will focus on having fun while learning the fundamentals of baseball.  Each player will receive instruction on throwing, hitting, fielding, pitching and base running while also playing team games each day.  Camp will focus on small group instruction to ensure that all phases of baseball are covered with players of the same age and skill level.  Campers will receive instruction from current and former college, high school and USA Baseball National Team coaches. USA Baseball’s Tournament of Stars presented by MLB

June 23–28

The Tournament of Stars (TOS) is made up of 144 of the nation's best ballplayers that are international age-eligible (born in 1991 or 1992). They are invited by 8 youth baseball groups (AABC, American Legion, Babe Ruth, Dixie, PONY, NABF, RBI, and USA Baseball) and compete on 8 teams under the same names.  These players form the pool of talent from which USA Baseball will select its 18U National Team to represent our country in international competition.

Park Features:

The National Training Complex has four baseball fields (one Stadium Field and 3 Training Fields) with dimensions of 330 feet down the lines, 400 feet in center and all fields are maintained at Major League Baseball standards.

  • Training Fields each have an individual scorekeeper/announcer shelter and spectator seating for 120 people.
  • The Stadium Field has a press box that includes two suites, official scorer’s room, a sound room and press row. The Stadium has spectator seating for 1,754 people, including handicapped accessible seating, and additional grass seating for approximately 250 people is also available.
  • All fields have access to restroom facilities and concession building.
Background
USA Baseball National Training Complex was built in a partnership between the Town of Cary and USA Baseball. USA Baseball has been located at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park since moving from Tucson, Arizona. In January 2003, the Town of Cary reached an agreement with Heery International to design the National Training Complex. Heery International projects include the 1996 Olympic Stadium, which later became Turner Field, home of Major League Baseball’s Atlanta Braves.

About USA Baseball
USA Baseball is the national governing body for the sport and represents amateur baseball as part of the United States Olympic Committee and the International Baseball Association. USA Baseball governs more than 20 million amateur players across the country. 

In addition to the Olympic Team, USA Baseball trains and supports USA Baseball National Team of Collegians, the USA Baseball Junior National Team for players 18 and under, the Youth National Team for those 16 and under, and the Women’s National Team.  Teams take part in international competition yearly. 

Park Hours of Operation:
Sunrise to Sunset.  In lighted areas where visitors are participating in an approved extended use activity, hours are extended until 30 minutes after the completion of the approved activity.

Park Rules and Regulations:

  • NO PETS ALLOWED IN THE USA BASEBALL NATIONAL TRAINING COMPLEX
  • All pets outside the baseball complex must be kept on leash at all times
  • Skateboards, rollerblades, scooters, etc. are prohibited inside the baseball complex
  • Parking prohibited in designated areas only.
  • All alcoholic beverages are prohibited.
  • Damage to Plants and Turf is prohibited.
  • Open Fires are prohibited, except in designated areas.
  • Weapons of any kind are prohibited.
  • Injuring or endangering wildlife is prohibited.

Directions to National Training Complex:

In Cary: Take High House Road towards Highway 55. Make a right on Hwy 55. Travel to the next stop light and make a left at the light on Green Hope School Road. Travel approximately 1.5 miles and make a left into the USA Baseball Training Complex.  

From Interstate 40:  Take Exit 278 (Highway 55 exit).  Travel towards Apex. Travel approximately 7.5 miles and make a Right on Green Hope School Rd. at the stop light. Approx. 1.5 miles make a left into USA Baseball National Training Complex.

From Highway 64 West out of Raleigh: Take the Hwy. 55 exit.  Make a right towards Durham. Travel approximately 3.7 miles and make a left on Green Hope School Rd. at the stop light.
