Getting to the Festival

Use Cary’s C-TRAN Transit System for FREE!

C-Tran, the Town of Cary’s public transit service, offers inexpensive and reliable transportation around Cary throughout the year. For Spring Daze, you can ride the East-West route FREE of charge to and from the festival!  C-TRAN service will run every half hour leaving between 6 a.m.-9 a.m. and 3 p.m.-7 p.m. and hourly in between those times from the train station on Academy Street. You can also catch the C-Tran North-South bus and transfer to the East-West bus at the Cary Train Station heading westbound. If you take the Maynard Loop bus, you can get off at Kroger at Maynard Crossing and head westbound on the East-West bus in front of Kroger’s. Festival Shuttle Bus

Park at the Town Hall Parking Deck located adjacent to the Cary Town Hall on Wilkinson Avenue (just off of N. Academy Street) and take the free shuttle! Shuttles run every 15 – 20 minutes between 8:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.

Arrive by Car

Parking is available inside Bond Park at the Bond Park Community Center, Cary Senior Center or the Ropes Course parking area. You may also park at in limited areas at St. Michael’s Catholic and at Genesis United Methodist Churches both located across the street from Bond Park on High House Road. A shuttle to the festival entrance is provided from the parking areas inside the Park.

Handicapped Accessible Parking
Festival goers needing special handicapped assistance can ride the C-TRAN East-West route or come to Bond Park and park use the provided handicapped parking. Look for the volunteers near the Senior Center that will assist you in parking as close to the festival as possible in specially reserved handicapped parking.

Directions:

From 1-40 / Exit 287 – North Harrison Avenue
Follow Harrison Avenue to Chapel Hill Road. Turn right onto Maynard Road. Go straight until you reach High House Road. Turn right onto High House Road. Fred G. Bond Metro Park is about ½ mile down on the left.

From 1-40 via NC Highway 55
Turn left onto High House Road. Cross Davis Drive and Cary Parkway. Fred G. Bond Metro Park is about 1/4 mile past Cary Parkway on the right.

From US Highway 1 / US-64 via NC Highway 55
Turn right onto High House Road. Cross Davis Drive and Cary Parkway. Fred G. Bond Metro Park is about 1/4 mile past Cary Parkway on the right.

Come on Foot or by Bike via the Town of Cary Greenway System

Use the Town of Cary Greenway System to come to the Festival! Access the Festival by using either the Parkway or Oxxford Hunt Trails.

Oxxford Hunt Greenway
The Oxxford Hunt Greenway is 1.5 miles is both paved and unpaved. The trailhead is located near the corner of Normandale Drive and West Chatham Street. This trail leads into Bond Park. Before the trail enters Bond Park, it is a private trail open for public use. Once into Bond Park, the trail is paved and links directly to the Bond Park Boathouse.

Directions to trailhead: From Maynard Road, turn south onto Old Apex Road. Then turn right onto Chatham Street. The trailhead will be 200 yards ahead on the left side of the road.

White Oak Creek Greenway
The newly constructed White oak Creek Greenway is 1.42 miles of paved surface. This trail extends from MacArthur Drive directly into Bond Park.   It also links with the Cary YMCA at Cary Parkway.  This trail may also be accessed within Bond Park via the Lake Trail.

Black Creek Greenway
The segment of Black Creek Greenway near Bond Park is paved and is .63 miles in length.  It extends from Castalia Drive and links directly to the Bond Park Boathouse.

FESTIVAL INFORMATION

Restrooms

Restrooms are located near the Kiwanis Shelter, at the comfort station near ball fields 1 and 2, at the Bond Park Community Center, and at the Cary Senior Center. Additional restrooms are throughout the festival area.

Restrictions

For the safety and comfort of everyone, no roller skates/blades, skateboards, bicycles, etc. are allowed in the festival area. No tossing of balls, Frisbees or other objects is allowed. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited. Dogs are prohibited in the festival area.

Lost & Found

Items found during the festival may be turned in at the information booth located near the shuttle stop. Items may be claimed there during the festival or afterward at the Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources Department in Town Hall, 316 N. Academy St. In the event of a lost child, please contact any of the festival staff or Town of Cary police officers. Please report to the information booth at the festival entrance for additional assistance.

Kiosks

Information about and directions to the artists, entertainers, civic groups, and concessionaires can be found on the information kiosks located in the festival area. Information can also be obtained at the information booth at the festival entrance or by asking any of the volunteers.

Accessibility

Artists, concessions and entertainment areas are on ground level. Handicapped parking is marked in the festival parking area.

Weather

In the event inclement weather is forecast prior to the beginning of the festival, a decision will be made by 7 a.m. on Saturday as to whether the festival will proceed on schedule. That decision will be broadcast on local radio stations beginning at 7 a.m. If the festival is postponed, the alternate date is the Sunday immediately following the festival’s scheduled date from 1-6 p.m. If it begins raining after the festival has begun, a decision will be made at that time whether to postpone the event.
