Teen Forum Feedback and Evaluation
Cindi reported that the
event had approximately 103 participants pre-registered and there were 10 walk
in registrations the day of the event.
Approximately 93 participants attended the event. Cindi distributed a
compilation of the event evaluations which the committee reviewed.
Participation: The
participant age range was fairly evenly distributed and there were participants
from approximately 15 different schools in the area. The survey showed that we are on target with
the scheduling of the event.
Information Booths: The
participants liked the information booths that were set up at lunch and the
committee felt that this should be continued if it is relevant to the topic.
Lunch: It was also suggested
that for lunch there should be another option in the event a participant cannot
eat the main choice. Include that lunch
is provided in the event description.
Sessions: Overall they went
well. The participants enjoyed the
sessions with more interactive, hands on activity. The committee felt that the
length of the sessions should stay about the same. It was suggested that there
should be more that 4 sessions to choose from however that has posed logistical
problems when it was tried before. Some
suggestions to facilitate doing more sessions included having a limited number
of spaces available in each session and either 1) Allow the first 20 participants
at the session to attend, if participants don’t get into that session they
would have to choose another and try again later to get in, participants would
have a card stamped once they had attended a session to prevent repeats or 2)
Sign up for the sessions when they first arrive at the event to encourage
people to get there early.
Speaker: The committee agreed that not having a speaker worked out well.
Survey: Tom suggested asking
on the survey if participants were first timers to the event or repeat
participants.
Prizes for next year:
Carlotta suggested checking into tickets for the NCAA first round basketball
games at the
