BUSINESS

Call to OrderLeta Huntsinger called the meeting to order at 6:08pm.

MinutesThe minutes for the July 20th meeting were reviewed by the Committee.
Action:  Toby Kennedy made a motion to accept the minutes of the
July 20, 2006 meeting.  The motion carried by a unanimous vote.

Public Speaks Out – N/A

Development Review (Greenway/Land Dedications)

Hilliard
Forest – Doug McRainey presented information on the alignment of a portion of greenway to be built in Hilliard Forest .  The committee was not in favor of the alignment that was submitted.


Action:
Toby Kennedy made a motion directing staff to look into realignment of the greenway away from the outer edge of the development and instead alongside the internal buffer. The motion passed unanimously. 

Piney Plains – Doug McRainey presented information on the Piney Plains greenway alignment.  No action required.

Project Updates
American Tobacco Trail – Doug McRainey presented information on the American Tobacco Trail project.  The Department of Transportation has requested that the Town of Cary provide construction administration and maintenance for the Chatham County portion of the trail.  The committee favors completion of the trail as soon as possible and recommends that the Town of Cary do whatever is necessary to expedite the process.
