v      The meeting schedule for the Old Cary Elementary project has changed.

v      The next public meeting has been moved to Tuesday, October 2, 2007.

v      Clearscapes will meet with the Committee at the September Cultural Arts meeting; however the date has not been confirmed at this time – possible September 17 or September 18.

v      There will be a joint meeting with the Cultural Arts Committee and Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources Advisory Committee on October 16 to make a decision on the project.

v      There will be a new footprint for the Civic Row area to incorporate the “Take a Seat” project by Cary Visual Art.

v      Provide a guidebook for visitors.

·         Review of Cultural Arts Row at Spring Daze – David Lindquist

v      The volunteer support is excellent, but there are still some open times from 3pm5pm.

v      The passport idea of having the public get their card punched 5 times to enter a drawing will be the draw to the tents.

v      Thanks to everyone for volunteering.

·         Process for soliciting feedback at events and activities

v      The feedback form used at Lazy Daze is an excellent opportunity to see how the community feels about the arts.

v      Staff suggested setting up a table at other events like the Concert Singers, Diwali, Sertoma Series.

v      The Committee suggested leading the public to a survey site on the web.  Staff explained that the Town conducts an annual survey.

v      Also suggested was to attend other events like sporting or recreation.

v      Staff will make a list of events for the next meeting to discuss.

v      Staff will have copies of the feedback forms for Lazy Daze 2006.

·         Web Re-design

v      Staff explained the web page for Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources will have at the top of the page 4 fixed pictures; on the left hand side will be standard information name, address, phone number and fax number; on the right hand side will be 4 or 5 rotating icons (these items will change seasonally); under the pictures will be 6 tabs that when highlighted will have pop-ups with more details; in the center toward the bottom will be an open area.

v      The 6 tabs will have names below are the two suggestions:  #1 – Sports, Arts, Rec/Fitness, Parks/Greenways, General and Facilities;  #2 – Planning/Design, Programs/Classes, Festivals/Events, Parks/Greenways, General and Facilities.  How does the Committee feel about these?

v      The Committee liked the seconded set, but a couple did like the first set.

v      The Committee suggested putting in the center “What’s Happening This Week” calendar that would allow the public to click on a date to see what was taking place.

v      The rotating icons on the right hand side are not where people will look because you read left to right.  This would be very easily overlooked by the public.
