Committee Report Spring Daze Planning –
David Lindquist
David reported he, Deanna Kerrigan and
Kay Struffolino meet to review and make recommendations on the Cultural Arts
area for Spring Daze and Lazy Daze.
Please follow this link to the Proposal for the Cultural Arts Zone.
Problems:
Ø Cultural Arts
Zone (CAZ) in “05 and “06 did not invite equitable traffic for participants.
Ø Not all groups
participated and uneven portrayal of what arts groups do.
Ø Participation
took on a competitive quality (for traffic, attention, etc.)
Ø Much of the
coordination role fell to festival staff.
Objectives:
Ø Good balance of
traffic potential for participants and represent more groups.
Ø Emphasis on the
cultural arts “team”.
Ø Stay within
limited footprint at site.
Ø Make entire zone
more inviting to public.

volunteered for the first 3 performances of the new season discussed the events
and any issues that presented themselves.
Ø As volunteer

helping with shows for the following month’s schedule.
Ø The June 19th
Air Force Jazz performance will also be Neighbor Day. Both the residential and business ‘neighbors’
receive passes that entitle them to free admission at pre-selected events held
at the venue.
Ø Friday, June 9th
