CITIZEN ADVISORY COMMITTEES
to the Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources Advisory Board

The Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources Advisory Board operates with
four committees that advise the Town Council and staff. Committee meeting
dates and locations may vary. For more information, contact the Parks,

Athletic Committee
This committee advises the Athletics Division regarding sports rules, issues
and policies. The committee also assists with sports league tryouts.
Term: 3 years
Members: 6, plus one teen representative
Meetings: 2nd Thursday of each month

Cultural Arts Committee
This committee advises the Cultural Arts Division regarding programs, issues and policies, and serves as a link to the various art organizations in Cary. The committee members also make recommendations to the Town Council about funding cultural groups
Term: 3 years
Members: 11 , plus one teen representative
Meetings: 2nd Tuesday of each month

Greenway Committee
This committee advised the PRCR park planning staff regarding greenway projects, issues and policies.  In addition, the committee assists staff in educating the public about Cary’s greenway program.  
Term: 3 years
Members: 12, plus one teen representative
Meetings: 3rd Thursday of each month

Teen Advisory Committee
This committee assists staff in development, implementation and volunteer
support of teen activities, events and programs. The committee prioritizes
program direction and develops ideas for teen involvement and recognition
in the community.
Term: 3 years for adult members, 1 year for youth members
Members: 10
Meetings: 3rd Tuesday of each month
