Consideration for amendment to Town of Cary Traffic Schedule 14: Speed Limits

Executive Summary:  The NC Dept. of Transportation (NC DOT) has changed the speed limit on Jones Franklin Road (SR 1152) from our northern corporate limits to Holly Springs Road from 45 mph to 35 mph. 
 
Discussion: It is requested that Council amend Town of Cary, Traffic Schedule 14: Speed Limits, deleting Jones Franklin Road (SR 1152) from northern corporate limits to Holly Springs Road 45 mph.  Upon deletion of the 45 mph speed limit, the speed limit for Jones Franklin will become 35 mph, as per N.C.G.S. 20-141 without any further Council action.

A TRAFFIC SCHEDULE OF THE TOWN OF CARY
PROVIDING THAT THE TOWN OF CARY, NC TRAFFIC SCHEDULES, BE AMENDED BY REVISING TRAFFIC SCHEDULE 14; PROVIDING FOR:

Traffic Schedule 14: Speed Limits

In accordance with the provisions of section 34-149, Speed limit on through highways and state-maintained streets.

Delete:

Jones Franklin Road (SR 1152) from northern corporate limits to Holly Springs Road 45 mph
