Council-Initiated Request, VFP
Council-Initiated Request from Mayor Weinbrecht and Council Member Frantz Regarding the Veteran's Freedom Park Proposal
E-mail from Mayor Weinbrecht to the Town Council:
Council members,
Recently Ben, Mary, Tim, Jeff, Julie and myself met with Ms. Goodnight and John Boswell (chief legal officer for SAS). They are proposing the donation of the 11 acres that houses the Veterans Freedom Park to the town. A condition is that they would like to build a 120 foot monument at their expense. I have forwarded the attachments of their proposal letter and the electronic versions of the monument.
I would like to propose that council consider direction staff to investigate the requirements and financial costs associated with this proposal and add this to the next available agenda. Personally, I think it is a wonderful offer and would love to see the town turn this into a beautiful park with a wonderful theme.
I am looking for a second to put this on the next available agenda.
