Full Release

Cary, NC – The Town of Cary invites citizens to NW Cary YMCA/Crosspointe Church, 6911 Carpenter Fire Station Road, on January 30 anytime from 5-8 p.m. to learn more about and provide input on the design of the two future neighborhood parks in western Cary. During the open house-style meeting, Town staff will share information with citizens about the selected park sites and the master planning process. There will be identical presentations at 5:15 and 6:30 p.m. The two 20-acre sites are located at the southwest corner of Carpenter Fire Station Road and Highcroft Drive, and the southeast corner of Green Level Church Road and McCrimmon Parkway. Neighborhood parks typically include open lawn areas, children’s play areas, paved trails and other site amenities along with the preservation of natural features.

Following the public meeting, the Town will designate a committee of citizens, staff and consultants to help design concepts for the parks. The resulting master plans will be presented at a second public meeting this Spring for public review.

Design costs are anticipated to total about $1,450,000 for these projects. Completion of design and permitting for the parks is anticipated in early 2020.
