CARY, NC – The construction of a pedestrian tunnel along a portion of the American Tobacco Trail at the Wake and Chatham county line could result in minor delays and temporary closures for visitors through spring 2018. The pedestrian tunnel is being installed as part of plans to extend Yates Store Road across the American Tobacco Trail to East Ferrell Road. Work will take place Monday through Friday beginning August 14 between 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.
Signs will be posted on the trail and flaggers will be in place to direct traffic. The trail will close for short periods as needed to remove trees in the initial phase of work. The work is being performed by Oak City Contracting, the developer of the Montvale subdivision.
