Kites Take Flight in Cary
- Cary’s Annual Kite Festival is March 18, 1-3 p.m. at the Bond Park spillway, 801 High House Rd.
- Registration for free kite-flying contest is March 18, 12:30-p.m. across from Bond Park Community Center entrance.
- In case of rain, Kite Festival is March 19, 1-3 p.m.
CARY, NC – Let your kite take flight at the Town of Cary’s Annual Kite Festival on March 18 from 1-3 p.m. at the Bond Park spillway, 801 High House Road. Register for the free kite-flying contest at 12:30 p.m. across from the entrance to the Bond Park Community Center; participants are eligible for certificates and awards in a variety of categories for all ages and experience levels. Visit with the expert kite flyer who will be available to provide kite-flying tips or help mending kites.
The morning of the Festival, participate in one of the Town’s classes where participants make and decorate a kite and let it take flight at the Festival. Kite-Making Fun! is for ages 3-6 with caregiver and Let’s Make a Kite! is for ages K5-11; both classes are March 18 at Bond Park Community Center from 10-11:30 a.m. Register for classes online through EZ-REG or in person at any Town of Cary staffed parks and recreation facility. Each class is $14 for residents, $18 for all others.
In case of rain, the Kite Festival will take place March 19, 1-3 p.m.
