Join the Next Class of Cary’s Citizens Police Academy

  • The Town of Cary Police Department is assembling its 40th graduating class of the Citizens Police Academy and may be looking for you.
  • The 12-week course focuses on the various aspects of policing, including criminal and constitutional law, patrol, youth services, DWI detection and domestic violence.

CARY, NC – The Town of Cary Police Department is assembling its 40th graduating class of the Citizens Police Academy and may be looking for you. Residents of Cary 18 years or older are invited to register now through February 15 for the Citizens Police Academy, a 12-week course on the various aspects of policing. Topics include criminal and constitutional law, patrol, youth services, DWI detection and domestic violence; participants round out their experience with trips to a local firing range and an officer ride-along. Classes are Tuesdays starting February 28-May 16, and completion is a prerequisite for joining the Police Department’s 170-member strong Citizens Assisting Police (CAP) Team.
