Annual Water Disinfecting Change
Overview
To meet state and federal regulations, Cary/Apex Water Treatment Plant operators typically suspend the addition of ammonia during disinfecting each March. This is part of a balancing of treatment procedures to provide safe drinking water.
The North Carolina Department of Environment and Natural Resources supports this holiday from the annual process and is completely confident that drinking water will remain safe and of high quality.
The Town of Cary will continue its daily water quality monitoring program that includes sampling and testing water from over 30 locations throughout Cary and Morrisville on a daily basis.
