The Town’s public transit service includes bus transportation along six fixed routes available for use by all citizens and visitors of Cary. Cary citizens who are disabled or at least 60 years old have the option of using this fixed route service in addition to registering for door-to-door service.

Fixed Routes:

A fixed route service map and bus schedule show the six C-Tran fixed routes, the existing Triangle Transit Authority routes, Capital Area Transit Route 11c to NC State, transfer points from one route to another, and nearby apartment complexes, shopping areas and other likely destinations.

Route 1
Schedule
(previously named Maynard Loop Route 1)
Travels clockwise around Maynard Road with service also to Cary Towne Center Mall and Crossroads Shopping Center.

Route 2
Schedule
(previously named Maynard Loop Route 2)
Travels counterclockwise around Maynard Road with service to Cary Towne Center Mall and Crossroads Shopping Center.

Hours - Buses run approximately every 60 minutes from 6 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.
Fare - $1 per one-way trip; 50 cents per one-way trip for seniors & disabled passengers from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m., free transfers.

Route 3
Schedule

Area served:
Train Station – N. Harrison Ave – Cary Pkwy – Norwell Rd – Weston Pkwy – Harrison Ave – Northwoods – Train Station

Route 5
Schedule

Area served:
Train Station – S. Academy St – Kildaire Farm Rd – Crescent Commons – and returns north to Train Station along the same corridor

Route 4
Schedule

Area served:
Train Station – W. Chatham St – High House Rd – High House crossing at Hwy 55 and returns to Train Station along the same corridor

This route connects with Triangle Transit Route 311 at Hwy 55.

Route 6
Schedule

Area served:
Train Station – E. Chatham St – E. Maynard Rd – Cary Towne Center Mall – Buck Jones Rd – Park West Shopping Center/Raleigh

This route connects with Capital Area Transit (CAT) Route 11c that goes to Avent Ferry Road and NC State University.

Hours - Buses run approximately every 30 minutes from 6-9 a.m. and 3-8 p.m.; buses run every hour from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

Fare – $1 per one-way trip; 50 cents per one-way trip for seniors & disabled passengers from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.; free transfers between C-Tran routes

Accessibility
All C-Tran fixed route buses are wheelchair accessible. Each bus has two wheelchair safety devises.

Rack-N-Roll
The C-Tran Rack-N-Roll Program makes riding fixed routes more convenient for bicyclists. Bike racks on each bus can accommodate two wheeled, single seat bicycles.

Tandems, tricycles and bicycles with wheels less than 16 inches in diameter are not compatible.
